MIAMI – Leagues Cup 2025 action continues with six matches on Thursday in Phase One of the Concacaf-sanctioned competition between MLS and Liga MX clubs, as they battle for the crown and three spots in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.

CF Monterrey vs. FC Cincinnati


CF Monterrey and FC Cincinnati face off at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA to start the day’s encounters.

It will be the third meeting in their history after clashing in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. Monterrey claimed victories in both legs to win the series 3-1 on aggregate.

This will mark Monterrey’s third Leagues Cup appearance. The clubs best finish was in 2023 as fourth place. Rayados failed to get out of the Group Stage in the 2024 edition and will seek to return to the Knockout Phase.

FC Cincinnati will compete in a fourth Leagues Cup tournament. In 2024, the Ohio side reached the Round of 16, falling against the Philadelphia Union.

CD Guadalajara vs. New York Red Bulls 

New York Red Bulls will welcome CD Guadalajara to Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, USA for what will be the third match between the sides.

The teams met in the semifinals of the 2018 Concacaf Champions Cup, with Guadalajara winning 1-nil in the first leg and the second leg resulting in a goalless draw, as the Liga MX side went on to win its second CCC title.

This year’s participation marks Guadalajara’s fourth at a Leagues Cup. Chivas will look to advance to the Knockout Round for the first time after a Group Stage finish in 2023 and 2024.

New York Bulls is set for a third appearance in the competition. The team’s best finish came in 2023 by reaching the Round of 16. In 2024, NYRB concluded its participation in the Group Stage.

Charlotte FC vs. FC Juárez

Charlotte FC will host FC Juárez at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA for a first-ever encounter.

Charlotte FC will make its third Leagues Cup appearance, reaching the Quarterfinals in 2023 and being eliminated in the Group Stage in 2024.

FC Juárez will also play in the tournament for a third time. The border club advanced to the Round of 32 in 2023 and 2024.

Colorado Rapids vs. Santos Laguna

The Colorado Rapids will face Santos Laguna at Dick’s Sporting Good Park in Commerce City, Colorado, USA. The encounter will be the third in their history.

The sides met twice in the group stage of the 2012 Concacaf Champions Cup, with Santos Laguna winning both games.

The Rapids are in a fourth Leagues Cup after finishing third in the 2024 edition. Last year’s run was highlighted by defeating Toluca in the Round of 16 and overcoming Club América on penalties in the quarterfinals before securing one of the three CCC berths at stake.

Santos Laguna plays in a fourth edition after reaching the Round of 32 in 2024. The club reached the Semifinals in the 2021 edition, which featured eight invited teams in knockout play, and secured its best finish under the new format in 2024 by reaching the Round of 32.

Cruz Azul vs. Seattle Sounders 

Seattle Sounders FC and Cruz Azul will meet at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington, USA for a third match in their history.

The sides recently met in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup. The first leg resulted in a goalless draw, while Cruz Azul earned a 4-1 win in the second leg to claim the series and eventually win its seventh title.

Cruz Azul will make a fourth appearance in the competition. Winners of the inaugural edition of the Leagues Cup in 2019, La Màquina fell on penalties against Mazatlán in the Round of 16 of the 2024 edition for its best finish under the official format.Seattle Sounders was one of the region’s representatives at this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and will make a fourth Leagues Cup participation. In 2024, the Sounders reached the Quarterfinals.

LA Galaxy vs. Club Tijuana

The final match of the evening will see LA Galaxy host Club Tijuana at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, USA.

The match presents a fourth encounter in their history, after they clashed in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Concacaf Champions Cup and in the Leagues Cup 2019 Quarterfinals.

LA Galaxy won 1-nil in the first leg of the 2014 CCC quarterfinals before Tijuana came out on top 4-2 in the second leg to win the series 4-3. The Galaxy was victorious 3-1 in penalties in the Leagues Cup 2019 Quarterfinals after a 2-2 draw in regulation.
