SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – The final spot in the 2015 Salvadoran Clausura semifinals will be decided Wednesday, when Alianza (7W-6D-5L, 27 points) meets FAS in a single-game playoff at the Estadio Cuscatlan.

A 1-1 draw with Aguila on Sunday -- the last day of the regular season -- lifted Alianza into a tie for fourth place with FAS (7W-6D-5L, 27 points), which fell 1-0 at Juventud Independiente.

The result extended Alianza’s unbeaten streak to six consecutive games (3W-3D-0L), including a 1-1 stalemate with three-time defending champion Isidro Metapan on April 19.

FAS has struggled of late, following a three-game winning streak with a run of three games without a victory (0W-1D-2L).  It is unbeaten, though, in two outings against Alianza this season.  Jonathan Agula scored the only goal in a 1-0 win on March 11, while the first meeting ended in a 1-1 draw on January 18.

Defensively, Alianza and FAS have been sturdy all season, each conceding less than a goal a game.

The winner will face Isidro Metapán in one semifinal, while the other will be contested by Juventud Independiente and Santa Tecla.
