MIAMI, Florida – The second leg matches of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 get underway this Tuesday with Liga Deportiva Alajuelense seeking a comeback at Atlanta United at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia.

The Costa Rican club fell 1-0 to their MLS counterparts in the first leg in Costa Rica, but created a slew of scoring opportunities and will still fancy their chances of finding an early goal to bring the series level.

As for Atlanta United, the 1-0 win at Alajuelense was the first ever SCCL victory for an MLS team on Alajuelense’s home turf, and the Georgia side’s record at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in SCCL play will offer the hosts even more confidence.

In their previous two SCCL appearances in playing the Round of 16 second leg at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, Atlanta United have a 2W-0D-0L record with seven goals scored and no goals conceded.

Atlanta United also got a big boost last week with the return of FW Josef Martinez, the club’s all-time leading scorer in the SCCL (5 goals), who missed the team’s quarterfinal series with Club America in the 2020 SCCL due to a knee injury.
