PENONOMÉ, Panama – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continued with Sporting San Miguelito and LA Galaxy playing to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Round One series on Thursday at Estadio Universitario in Penonomé, Panamá.
The hosts made their stadium roar with the opening goal in the 37’, as Rodrigo Tello struck in the box to meet an assist by Angel Valencia.
LA Galaxy pulled one back to equalize in the 68’ thanks to a right-footed hit from Joseph Paintsil.
Jakob Glesnes was named the Superior Player of the Match for his performance, delivering three tackles, three duels won, and one shot inside the box.
The two clubs will meet once more in the second leg next Wednesday at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, USA. The winner on aggregate will advance to the Round of 16.
