TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continued with Club América earning a 2-1 win over CD Olimpia in the first leg of their Round One series on Tuesday at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa Honduras.
Jorge Benguché was active in attack for Olimpia throughout the first 45 minutes. The Honduran generated the most dangerous opportunities of the half for the hosts, with a long-range shot that was just wide of the right post in the 10’. Las Águilas effort for a match-winner was ultimately rewarded in the in 88’, as second-half substitute Brian Rodríguez had an attempt towards the bottom-right corner saved, but Ramón Juárez was quick to capitalize on the rebound to tuck the ball away and secure the crucial victory on the road.
The two sides will meet again for the second leg of the series on February 11 at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. The winner on aggregate will advance to the Round of 16.
