Club Sport Cartaginés, champion in 1994, qualified for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup as the winner of one of the 2025 Central American Cup Play-In matches. The last Champions Cup appearance for CS Cartaginés was in the 2013/14 edition of the tournament.
This is the first time that CS Cartaginés has qualified through an international tournament; previously, it had done so as the runner-up of the domestic league in Costa Rica.
