Club América qualified for the 2026 edition of the Concacaf Champions Cup as the champion of the 2024 Liga MX Apertura, a title that made it the first club to win three consecutive championships in the history of Liga MX short tournaments. This will be its third consecutive Champions Cup appearance, achieving this milestone for the second time in its history (2014, 2015, 2016 | 2024, 2025, 2026).
Along with Cruz Azul, Club América is the team with the most Champions Cup titles (7), the most finals won (7), and one of the only Mexican clubs with 200+ goals scored in the history of the tournament.
