GUATEMALA CITY – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Xelajú MC earning a 3-nil victory against CD Águila in Group D on Wednesday at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Jorge Aparicio placed Xelajú in front in the 26’ with a right-footed shot from outside the box.

Jesús López extended the lead for the Guatemalan side in the 48’ off a header from close range. Romário da Silva provided the assist to with a left-footed service from the edge of the goal line.

Pedro Báez added the exclamation point with a goal in the 90’+3’ to round out the victory. Widvin Tebalán provided the cross from midfield to find his teammate at the far post.

Rubén Darío Silva added two saves to his account and collected a second consecutive clean sheet in the Central American Cup.

CD Águila will host fellow Salvadoran side CD Hércules on Tuesday. Xelajú will meet Nicaraguan side Real Estelí on Thursday.
