MIAMI – The third week of the 2024 Central American Cup concludes on Thursday, as the 20 best clubs compete to be crowned champions in early December.

The matchday begins with the first-time matchup between San Francisco FC and Cacique Diriangén FC, followed by CSD Municipal and AD Guanacasteca to close out the day.

San Francisco FC vs. Cacique Diriangén FC

San Francisco FC hosts Cacique Diriangén FC at the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City.

San Francisco will look to bounce back after narrowly falling 3-2 at FC Motagua. Ricardo Clarke was the team’s standout player in the match against Motagua, scoring the first goal with a header and registering the assist for the second goal.

Diriangén FC will aim to recover its positive momentum after defeating Motagua 2-1 in its opening match and bounce back from a 1-nil loss against CS Herediano. Justing Cano and Luis Copete have scored the team’s goals, but the latter will be unavailable after receiving a red card in the previous encounter. Renzo Carballo will also be out serving a suspension.

For San Francisco FC, the match will mark its first encounter against a club from Nicaragua. Diriangén has previously played seven times against Panamanian opposition, recording one win, two draws, and four losses.

CSD Municipal vs. AD Guanacasteca

To close the match week, CSD Municipal will host AD Guanacasteca at the Estadio Pensativo in Antigua, Guatemala. This will be a meeting between two clubs in their debut Central American Cup campaigns and a first-time encounter all-time.

CSD Municipal is seeking its first victory after losing 1-nil on the road to Managua FC and drawing 1-1 at home to Real Estelí FC. Pedro Altán has scored the team’s lone goal in the current tournament.

AD Guanacasteca, meanwhile, will aim to recover after losing 5-nil to Deportivo Saprissa in their opening match. The club is looking to break a three-match losing streak across league and international play.
