PANAMA CITY — The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with CD Plaza Amador earning a 1-nil win against Alianza FC in Group A on Wednesday at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama.
Alianza had an early chance to take the lead the 7’, but the attempt from Alejandro Henríquez was just high.
Carlos Salazar came close to giving the visitors the lead in the 13’, with a right-footed finish that was just wide of the left post.
Alberto Quintero followed with attempts for the hosts. First, in the 17’ with a shot from inside the box that was blocked, followed by a diving header in the 34’ that was just high of the crossbar.
Everardo Rose scored the breakthrough goal in the 40’, finding the back of the net for the Panamanian club with a finish from the center of the box. The goal was the fourth of the campaign for Rose.
Samuel Castañeda posted two saves and earned his first clean sheet of the current edition.
With the victory, Plaza Amador secured first place in Group A with a perfect 4-0-0 record and 12 points.
Alianza FC finished fourth in the group with four points and a 1-1-2 record, concluding its participation in the 2025 edition.
