PANAMA CITY – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Real CD España earning a 2-1 victory over CD Plaza Amador in the second leg of their Quarterfinals series on Wednesday at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama. 

The clubs drew 2-2 on aggregate, with Real España winning the series on away goals. The Honduran side advanced to the Semifinals of the CCAC for the first time and booked a place in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Plaza Amador opened the match creating several chances and nearly pulled ahead in the 13’, with Jorlian Sánchez hitting the crossbar with a header from the right end of the box following a corner kick. 

Daniel Aparicio had a good look in the 21’ in search of the opener for Real España, but his right footed shot from the center of the box was met by a save from Plaza Amador goalkeeper Samuel Castañeda. 

The hosts came close once again in the 30’ with another opportunity that bounced off the woodwork, with a header from Jimar Sánchez on a corner hitting the left post.  

Jhow Benavídez converted from the penalty spot in the 44’ for Real España to open the scoring and tie the aggregate 1-1. 

Gustavo Souza nearly handed Real España the lead in the 47’ early in the second half, but his finish from close range was just wide of the right post. 

Ricardo Phillips found the equalizer for Plaza Amador in the 75’ for the Panamanian side to pull ahead 2-1 on the aggregate, sending the ball to the back of the net from outside the box.

Brayan Moya bagged a late winner for Real España in the 90’, scoring with a left-footed finish from close range to secure the comeback in the match and win the series on away goals.
