TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with CD Olimpia earning a 3-nil win against CSD Xelajú MC in Group D on Wednesday at Estadio José de la Paz Herrera Uclés in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Olimpia secured the win with three goals in quick succession during the first half.
Elison Rivas handed the hosts the lead in the 33’ with a strike from long range.
Jerry Bengston doubled the lead for Los Leones in the 35’, tucking the ball away with a header.
Jorge Benguché added a third for Olimpia in the 37’ with a diving header to connect with a cross from Edwin Rodríguez.
Olimpia goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar tallied three saves as he collected a second clean sheet in the campaign.
With the victory, Olimpia secured its berth in the Quarterfinals and first place in Group D with a 3-1-0 record and 10 points.
Xelajú finished second in the group with nine points and a 3-0-1 record and will also feature in the Quarterfinals.
