MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CSD Municipal hosting Real España in Group B on Wednesday at Estadio El Trébol in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The match will be the first between the sides in the CCAC and eight overall in their history, with three wins each and a draw in the past encounters. 

Municipal will be in search of its first win after securing draws in its first two fixtures. Los Rojos most recently drew 1-1 against Sporting San Miguelito, with Rodrigo Saravia scoring.

 

 

Real España will play its second Group Stage match after falling 4-2 against CS Herediano in matchday one. 

All-Time series 

Despite having a shared history in Concacaf club tournaments, this will be the first time CSD Municipal faces Real España in the Central American Cup.

Internationally, in official competitions, CSD Municipal and Real España have met 7 times, with 3 wins each and 1 draw.

The last time CSD Municipal faced Real España was a 3-0 victory on September 17, 2014, on Matchday 4 of Group 1 in the 2014/2015 Concacaf Champions Cup, played at Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores in Guatemala City (GUA), with Marvin “Titiman” Ávila scoring a hat-trick.

25 years since Real España's last win over CSD Municipal

The last time Real España defeated CSD Municipal was a 3-2 win on November 5, 2000, on Matchday 3 of the INTERCLUBES Cup, at Estadio Morazán in San Pedro Sula (HON), with a hat-trick from Mario Orta. For CSD Municipal, Juan Carlos “El Tin” Plata scored a brace.
