MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup is in the history books as LD Alajuelense collected its third consecutive crown following a 2-2 aggregate, and 4-3 victory on penalties, against CSD Xelajú MC in the Final on Wednesday at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
The reigning champions defended their crown, and the runners-up were outstanding by taking the championship match to the limit, including the following players who earned individual distinctions.
Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank: Bayron Mora, LD Alajuelense
Bayron Mora was named the recipient of the Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank, for being an integral part in leading LD Alajuelense to its third Concacaf Central American Cup title.
The goalkeeper played a major role in the Final with six total saves in the championship series and two saves in the penalty shootout.
Mora stepped in for the injured Washington Ortega, who started in goal for LDA from the Group Stage to the Semifinals, and helped the team complete its mission of a second successful title defense.
Top Goal Scorer, presented by Aramco: Jorge Benguché, CD Olimpia
Jorge Benguché finished the tournament with the Top Goal Scorer Award, presented by Aramco, for his eight goals for CD Olimpia. The Honduran striker was a menace throughout the tournament, scoring four of his goals in the Knockout Round.
Best Young Player Award, presented by Aramco: Creichel Pérez, LD Alajuelense
Creichel Pérez shined throughout the tournament as one of the rising stars to take the Best Young Player Award, presented by Aramco.
The 21-year-old midfielder got the start in six of his eight appearances, contributing one assist, five key passes, six shots on target, two successful crosses, five tackles won, nine clearances, and four interceptions in 616 minutes played.
Best Goalkeeper Award: Darío Silva, CSD Xelajú MC
Darío Silva was recognized as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament for his outstanding performances for the runners-up. The Uruguayan shot stopper led all players with 34 saves in the 2025 edition.
Fair Play Award: CSD Xelajú MC
CSD Xelajú MC was given the Fair Play Award due to being one of the most disciplined teams throughout the tournament.
