SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with CD Plaza Amador earning a 1-nil win against Real CD España in the First Leg of their Quarter Finals series at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Everardo Rose had a good look for Plaza Amador in the 15’, with an attempt from the right side of the box that was wide of the left post. 

José Murillo created another opportunity for the visitors in the 23’, with a left-footed hit to the near post that was met by a save from Real España goalkeeper Luis López.

Gustavo Souza took his chance for the hosts in the 35’, but his shot was wide of the left post.

Daniel Aparicio came closest for Real España in the 39’, hitting the right post with a finish from close range following a delivery into the box on a corner kick.

Éric Davis nearly handed Plaza Amador the lead in the 79’, but his free kick was saved by López at the upper right corner. 

Ovidio López scored the winner for the Panamanian side in the 90’, curling the ball to the far post from the left end of the box. Davis provided the assist on the play.

Plaza Amador will aim to defend its 1-0 lead at home when the sides meet again in the second leg next Wednesday in Panama City, Panama.
