SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Alianza FC winning 1-nil against Managua FC in Group A on Wednesday at Estadio Nacional Jorge “El Mágico” González in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The hosts had a good look early in the 5’ with a left-footed hit from Noel Rivera from outside the box that rattled the left post.
Emerson Mauricio scored the breakthrough goal for Alianza in the 54’, sending the ball to the back of the net with a finish from close range to capitalize on a delivery from Alejandro Henríquez.
Mauricio nearly doubled the lead for the hosts in the 65’, but his left-footed attempt from a free kick opportunity was saved by Managua goalkeeper Alyer López.
Both sides will continue their respective campaigns next week. Managua will close out its Group Stage participation with a visit to Plaza Amador on Tuesday, while Alianza will play its third match of the campaign when it hosts LD Alajuelense on Thursday.
