• Race to become Central America’s club champion will resume in late September with four thrilling Quarterfinal matchups 
  • Eight clubs will battle for six available slots in next year’s Concacaf Champions Cup 
  • Quarterfinal matchups set according to how clubs performed in the group stage

 

Miami, FL – Following the conclusion of the 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup Group Stage, Concacaf has confirmed the Quarterfinal matchups and schedule, with first-leg games set for September 23–25 and the decisive return legs to follow from September 30–October 2. 

The third edition of the regional competition began in late July with a 20-club Group Stage. Over five weeks, each club played a total of four matches, two at home and two away, with the top two from each group advancing to the Knockout Stage. These eight clubs are (Group Stage standings are available here): 

Group A: CD Plaza Amador (PAN), LD Alajuelense (CRC)
Group B: Sporting San Miguelito (PAN), Real CD España (HON)
Group C: FC Motagua (HON), CS Cartaginés (CRC)
Group D: Club Olimpia Deportivo (HON), Club Xelajú MC (GUA)

Knockout Stage Format 

The Knockout Stage features Quarterfinals, Play-in Matches, Semifinals, and a Final, with all rounds including both home and away matches.  

To determine the Quarterfinal matchups and each club’s path to the Final, the four group winners were ranked 1–4 and the runners-up 5–8 based on Group Stage performance, with the highest seed facing the lowest.

3. FC Motagua (8 pts, +4 gd)
4. Sporting San Miguelito (7 pts, -1 gd) 

Second-Place Finishers 

5. Club Xelajú MC (9 pts, +5 gd)
6. LD Alajuelense (9 pts, +2 gd) 
7. CS Cartaginés (7 pts, +9 gd) 
8. Real CD España (6 pts, +2 gd) 

Quarterfinal Matchups 

QF1: CD Plaza Amador vs Real CD España 
QF2: Sporting San Miguelito vs Club Xelajú MC
QF3: Club Olimpia Deportivo vs CS Cartaginés
QF4: FC Motagua vs LD Alajuelense

The four Quarterfinal winners will advance to the Semifinals and secure a spot in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup (see the list of already qualified clubs here). The four losing Quarterfinalists will advance to the Central American Cup Play-In, where they will face off for the final two Central American berths in next year’s Champions Cup. 

The tournament champion will receive a bye to the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16, while the remaining qualifiers will enter the competition in Round One.
