GUATEMALA CITY – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with CSD Xelajú MC earning a 2-nil victory against Sporting San Miguelito in the First Leg of their Quarter Finals series on Wednesday at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Kevin Ruiz broke the deadlock in the 65’ to place Xelajú in front, striking a header to the bottom right corner of goal. Jesús López earned the assist for his third of the campaign. 

Derrickson Quirós extended the Xelajú lead in the 79’ with a header of his own. Jesús López delivered the assist following a set piece situation for his second of the night and fourth overall.

Rubén Darío Silva had three saves to collect the clean sheet, his third of the campaign.

Sporting San Miguelito will host the Second Leg match when the two meet again next Thursday. The winner on aggregate will advance to the Semifinals and secure a berth in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
