SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras — The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Real CD España and CSD Xelajú MC drawing 1-1 in the First Leg of their Semifinals series on Wednesday at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Yeison Moreno had a good look in search of the opener for Real España in the 27’, following a corner, but his right-footed hit from the center of the box was saved by Xelajú goalkeeper Darío Silva. 

Devron García had back-to-back opportunities for Real España in the 34’. First, rattling the crossbar with a header on a set piece play, followed by another header, that was met by a save from Silva.

Jesús López had the best first half chance for Xelajú in the 36’, with a left-footed shot from the center of the box that took a deflection and was wide of the left post. 

Jesús López neared the opener for the visitors in the 59’, but his attempt from outside the box headed towards the top left corner was denied by Real España goalkeeper Luis López. 

Xelajú took the lead through Jesús López in the 63’, who slotted the ball at the bottom left corner to capitalize on a precise ball into space from Pedro Báez. 

Brayan Moya equalized for Real España in the 69’ with a left-footed rocket from the top of the box.

Xelajú will look to defend its advantage on away goals, while Real España seeks an away victory, when the sides meet for the Second Leg next Wednesday in Guatemala City.
