MIAMI – The 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup delivered top moments during its latest edition as Cavalier FC returned to the final to claim its first championship.

Here is a look at the best moments from the top performances of the 2024 campaign:

 

Cavalier FC gets redemption

After finishing the 2023 edition as runners-up, Cavalier FC returned to the final in 2024 to claim its first Concacaf Caribbean Cup championship. 

 

 

The Jamaican side had a nearly perfect group stage, with a 3W-0D-1L record, to finish as the first-place team in Group A. Cavalier continued its offensive effectiveness in the semifinals by defeating Moca FC 7-nil on aggregate.

Cavalier completed the comeback with a 2-2 aggregate in the final against Cibao FC, relying on its 1-nil home win in the first-leg goal and an away goal in the second leg.

 

Real Hope achieves first-time Champions Cup qualification

Real Hope FA earned its first trip to the Concacaf Champions Cup by winning the third-place series against Moca FC. The team was victorious in both legs, winning 1-nil at home and 3-2 away for the 4-2 aggregate.

 

 

The Haitian club was one of three undefeated sides in the group stage, finishing second in Group A with a 2W-2D-0L record, and featured one of the best defenses in the tournament with three clean-sheet performances

Cavalier FC offensive exhibition on display

Cavalier FC was the most effective offensive team from start to finish, with the most goals (20), assists (12), and highest goal conversion rate (21.3%) in the tournament.

The attack was led by the tournament’s top scorer Shaquille Stein (8 goals), and the recipient of the Best Player Award, Dwayne Atkinson, who led all players with five assists and 11 goal involvements.

Additionally, the 7-nil Cavalier win against Moca in the second leg of the semifinals was the match with the most goals and largest margin of victory in the 2024 edition.

 

Cibao FC ended the tournament with the most shots, points, and passes

Although Cibao FC lost the championship on away goals, the club delivered a remarkable campaign that saw the club begin with a six-match unbeaten streak. The only match Cibao lost in the 2024 edition was a 1-nil loss at Cavalier FC in the final's first leg.

Cibao finished first place in Group B with a 3W-1D-0L record, besting rival Moca FC on goal difference on the final group stage matchday. It then picked up consecutive wins in the semifinals against eventual third-place winners Real Hope FA.

The Dominican Republic side finished the tournament with the most shots (112), points (19), passes (2,985), best pass effectiveness (88%), and corner kicks (38).

 

150 goals in Caribbean Cup history

The second edition of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup reached the milestone of 150 goals. Of all goals, 96 scored from open play, 30 headed, 19 came from penalties, one from a free kick, and four were own goals. Notably, one-third of the goals scored across 2023 and 2024 (50 goals) came from set pieces.

The 2024 edition of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup was prolific, with 81 goals scored in 28 matches, an average of 2.9 goals per game. This surpassed the 2023 edition, which saw 69 goals and an average of 2.5 goals per game.
