MIAMI — The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continues with SV Robinhood taking on Central FC in Group A on Tuesday at Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion in Paramaribo, Suriname.

This will be the first-ever encounter between Surinamese and Trinidadian clubs in Caribbean Cup history.

Both sides will be seeking their first goal and win in this year’s tournament after losing their opening matches. Robinhood fell 1-nil to Mount Pleasant FA, while Central FC lost to 2-nil to Universidad O&M FC.

It will be Robinhood’s second match against a club from Trinidad and Tobago in international play. The previous meeting was a 5-nil loss to Joe Public on November 3, 2000, in the CFU Club Championship.

Central FC will also face a Surinamese club for just the second time. Its first meeting came in a 2-nil win over Inter Moengotapoe on April 17, 2015, during the first round of the CFU Club Championship.

Historic Series

First-ever clash between Surinamese and Trinidadian clubs in the Caribbean Cup.

SV Robinhood and Central FC are set to meet for the first time in an international competition, marking a historic encounter in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup.

For the Surinamese side, this will be only their second match against a club from Trinidad & Tobago in international play. The lone previous meeting dates back nearly 25 years, on November 3, 2000, when Robinhood suffered a 5-0 defeat to Joe Public in the CFU Club Championship. That match was played at the Dr. Joao Havelange Center of Excellence in Port of Spain, with goals scored by Angus Eve (2), Kerwyn Jemmott, Winston Feller, and Ancil Elcock.

Central FC will also face a Surinamese club for just the second time. Their first meeting came on April 17, 2015, in the second matchday of Group 1 during the first round of the CFU Club Championship, when they defeated Inter Moengotapoe 2-0 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Willis Plaza was the hero with a brace.

This matchup marks the first-ever meeting between Surinamese and Trinidadian clubs in the history of the Caribbean Cup (since its inception in 2023). In total, it will be the 15th international contest between clubs from these nations, with a strong advantage for Trinidad & Tobago sides: 11 wins, 2 draws, and just 1 victory for Surinamese clubs.

SV Robinhood opened Group A with a 1-0 defeat to Mount Pleasant FA, with Sue-Lae McCalla scoring in the 35th minute.
