MIAMI, Florida – 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Club Shield winners Robinhood of Suriname will look to continue their dream start in the 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Cup when they travel to Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica, on Thursday to take on Jamaican club Dunbeholden.

Robinhood tore through the Concacaf Caribbean Cup Shield, winning all five matches and outscoring opponents 21-4. That winning form has carried into the Caribbean Cup, as the five-time Concacaf Champions Cup runners-up defeated Cibao FC of the Dominican Republic, 1-0, to open their campaign in Group B.

The hero on that night was Shaquille Cairo, who scored the winning goal and also finished as the top scorer in the Shield with 10 goals.

It wasn’t all just Cairo in the win over Cibao. MF Carlos Da Silva led the team in passes with 72, while Tuur Don provided the assist on Cairo’s goal, on top of taking two shots himself.

Dunbeholden have two games under their belts to start this Caribbean Cup and just one point to show for it, so a full three points in front of the home fans will be paramount.

Dunbeholden fell 1-0 to fellow Jamaican side Harbour View to open the tournament, before earning a 1-1 draw with Atletico Pantoja thanks to a second half score from Dean-Andre Thomas.

Shakeen Powell has been the biggest distributor thus far by completing 95 percent of his 121 passes, while it was Rohan Brown who chipped in with the assist on Thomas’ goal against Atletico Pantoja.
