KINGSTON, Jamaica – Real Hope FA tied 1-1 with Miscellaneous Police FC in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup on Thursday at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
Haitian club Real Hope FA began its third appearance in the Caribbean Cup while Trinidad and Tobago side Miscellaneous Police FC made its debut. Both sides took a point in Group A to conclude the first match week.
Angelo Exilus struck the opening goal in the 35' with a right-footed hit inside the box.
Kevon Woodley struck a header in front of goal in the 39’, driving the ball into the ground but the attempt bounced over the crossbar.
Woodley struck a header on target in the 45’+1 but Real Hope goalkeeper Gooly Elien got both hands to the attempt.
On the opposite end, Exilus was denied seconds later by Police goalkeeper Adrian Foncette. Rapha Intervil pounced on the rebound but was blocked by Ross Russell Jr.
Yveto Dort attempted to extend the lead in the 62' with a shot from outside the box but was wide of the left post.
Kwesi Allen tied the match in the 87' with a diving header in the box to connect with the service from Elijah Belgrave.
Mekeil Williams struck a header in the 90'+4 off a corner kick but was wide as the visitors threatened to leave with the victory.
Miscellaneous Police FC will be back at Sabina Park next Thursday to take on Jamaican side Cavalier FC.
Real Hope FA will also face Cavalier FC in its next Caribbean Cup fixture on Tuesday, September 17, when it returns to Kingston.
