PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued with Mount Pleasant FA earning a 5-1 win over Defence Force FC in the First Leg of their Semifinals series on Wednesday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The Jamaican side opened the scoring in the 5’ when Warner Brown ripped a shot from close distance.
Mount Pleasant doubled its lead in the 15’, when Jamoi Topey sent a long ball over the top and Raheem Edwards played it off the bounce to slot home the goal.
Edwards recorded a brace in the 57’ as the Jamaican club used a throw-in to take full command of the tilt.
Shaqueil Bradford extended the lead in the 85’, as Chevaughn Walsh played a through ball that left him one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
Kimoni Bailey joined the scoring in the 90’+3’, cutting past a defender in the box and blasted his first goal of the tournament.
The Mount Pleasant defense was on the verge of a fifth consecutive clean sheet, but Defence Force FC broke through in the 90’+7’ when Kaihim Thomas got one past Tafari Chambers.
Mount Pleasant tied the longest win streak in the competition, previously set by Cibao FC between August and October 2024, of five consecutive victories.
The Second Leg of this Semifinals series will be played next Wednesday at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
