MIAMI — The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continues with Mount Pleasant FA hosting Defence Force FC in the Second Leg of their Semifinals series on Wednesday at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Mount Pleasant FA was dominant in the first leg with a 5-1 rout of the Trinidadian side. Warner Brown, Raheem Edwards, Shaqueil Bradford, and Kimoni Bailey scored the goals for Mount Pleasant, with Edwards collecting a brace.
The victory tied the longest win streak in the history of the competition, five consecutive victories, previously set by Cibao FC between August and October 2024.
The Jamaican side was also on the verge of recording its fifth consecutive clean sheet in the tournament, before conceding a late stoppage time goal to Kaihim Thomas. It marked the only goal Mount Pleasant has allowed in the 2025 edition.
Mount Pleasant FA is looking to continue the streak of Jamaican teams in the Caribbean Cup Final. Cavalier FC is the reigning champion and also finished as runners-up in 2023, the tournament’s inaugural edition.
Defence Force is the team that has made the most passes in the opponent’s half this tournament (1,164) but will have a steep mountain to climb to pull off the comeback on the road.
