MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continues with defending champions Cavalier FC facing Juventus des Cayes in Group B on Thursday at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
Cavalier FC is hoping to bounce back after losing 2-nil to Cibao FC to open the tournament. It will be its second encounter against a Haitian club in Caribbean Cup history, losing 2-1 to Real Hope on September 17, 2024.
Juventus des Cayes fell 1-nil in its debut against Defence Force. Haitian teams have been successful in Caribbean Cup play against Jamaican clubs with two wins and one draw.

First-ever showdown between Jamaican and Haitian sides in the Caribbean Cup
Cavalier FC and Juventus des Cayes are set to face off for the first time ever, both in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup and in any international competition.
For Cavalier, this marks their second encounter against a Haitian club in the Caribbean Cup. The first came on September 17, 2024, in Matchday 3 of Group A, when they fell 2-1 to Real Hope at Kingston’s National Stadium. Rikanel Chery and Steeve Mondestin scored for the visitors, while Dwayne Atkinson netted for the Jamaican side.
In total, Cavalier has faced Haitian opposition twice in international tournaments: once in the 2022 CFU Club Championship (a 3-2 loss to Violette AC) and once in the 2024 Caribbean Cup (the aforementioned 2-1 defeat to Real Hope). The Jamaican side will be aiming for its first-ever victory against a Haitian club.
Defending champions Cavalier FC opened with a 2-1 defeat to Cibao FC of the Dominican Republic, with goals from Omar De La Cruz in the 20th minute and Carlos Ventura in the 73rd.
This will be the fourth meeting between Jamaican and Haitian clubs in the history of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup. Haitian teams hold the edge with two wins and one draw. Interestingly, all three previous matches involved the same opponent: Real Hope (Cavalier 1-2, Arnett Gardens 0-0, Mount Pleasant 0-2).
