ORLANDO, Florida — Orlando City SC announced Wednesday that it acquired Honduras under-20 international Devron Garcia from Honduran first-division side Victoria.
The 19-year-old defender/midfielder began his professional career with the Jaibas Bravas in 2013, playing in 39 matches and scoring three goals. He has represented Honduras in the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup (5 games, 0 goals) and the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup (1 game, 0 goals).
“We are thrilled to bring Devron on board,” said Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath. “He’s a young, talented and versatile player with a lot of potential to grow into a strong asset for the team.”
Garcia, who scored two goals in the 213 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, joins fellow countryman -- forward Bryan Rochez -- with the Lions.
