GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Thanks to his excellent performances throughout the 2020 Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship, Mexico MF Alexis Vegas has earned the Scotiabank Best Player Award.
Vega appeared in all five of Mexico’s matches, starting four, scoring a goal and chipping in with two assists to help El Tricolor qualify for this summer’s 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Vega also converted the winning penalty kick to give Mexico a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Honduras in the Final.
