We are The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, one of six continental confederations of FIFA. Concacaf serves as the governing body of football in this part of the world. It is composed of 41 national associations united by the passion for football, from Canada in the north to Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana in the south.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Digital Content Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction and daily management of the content created and published on all Concacaf Digital Platforms, ensuring the growth and engagement of our digital audience.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and execute a cohesive content strategy, focusing on audience growth, engagement, and monetization in collaboration with a diverse team of cross functional stakeholders (Broadcasting, Commercial Partnerships, Competitions, Communications and Branding, amongst others).
  • Lead the content team including full time staff, freelancers and supporting creative agencies.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the digital content programming calendar, including live game coverage, tent-pole events and always on fan activations.
  • Guide the creation of brand friendly storytelling content franchises that will be the corner stone of the Digital Content Portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Partnerships team to develop creative proposals for clients or business development opportunities and ensure the successful execution for all greenlit projects.
  • Coordinate daily/weekly storylines with the Concacaf Communications and Competitions teams to ensure alignment in the execution across all channels.
  • Establish and build direct relationships with strategic distribution and technology partners to grow Concacaf’s digital audience and establish an infrastructure of creating best-in-class content strategy guidelines for all territories within the region.
  • Collaborate with Digital Content leaders across our 41 Member Associations to develop collaborative content strategies and synergies that result in audience growth and engagement in the region.
  • Track and provide recurring reports of Digital Audience KPI’s and content driven sponsorship campaigns.

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports journalism or similar discipline.
  • Sports enthusiast with 5-7 years of experience managing a digital content/editorial team.
  • Excellent understanding of soccer (club and national) in the Concacaf territories.
  • Excellent understanding of the current trends in digital usage, technology, and media.
  • Proficiency to edit, write and post content within a content management system.
  • Proficiency to edit images and leverage video and social media content elements to help produce compelling content.
  • Experience utilizing data and measurement to drive decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required.
  • Flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Acute attention to detail and commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish / proficiency in French or Dutch is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Candidate must have the flexibility to travel nationally and internationally for the performance of his/her duties. Approximate travel requirement: 5%

 

Due to the cyclical nature of the sports and entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules including game nights to reflect the business needs of the company.
