EDINBURG, Texas -- Canada has its sights set on qualifying for its seventh FIFA Women's World Cup as it meets Jamaica in the Group B opener for both teams at the concacaf Women's Championship on Friday night.

The match kicks off at H-E-B Park at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The Maple Leafs, who hosted the 2015 Women's World Cup, bring several goal-scoring options in the contest.

Christine Sinclair, who is second on the all-time women's goal-scoring list (173 goals), leads the attack, helped by Janine Beckie (22 goals in 44 games).

The Canadians, who are coached by Kenneth Heiner-Moller, have never lost to Jamaica in the CWC, recording a 5-0-0 mark while outscoring its foes, 40-1.

Participating in their sixth CWC, the Reggae Girls qualified for the final eight by finishing atop the Caribbean final round with a 4W-0D-0L record while outscoring their opponents, 23-2.

The Jamaican frontline has pace and is sparked by striker Khadija Shaw, who scored a team-high 16 goals during qualifying, including six tallies in a win over Guadeloupe. Trudi Carter and Giselle Washington contributed four goals each while Chinyelu Asher added three.

Cuba and Costa Rica will face off in the first game of the doubleheader.
