Panama City, Panama.- Argentina qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time in 12 years after a 5-1 aggregate victory over Panama in the intercontinental playoff on Tuesday, at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium.

The South Americans came to the second game on Tuesday, with a 4-0 lead in the first leg on the court of Arsenal de Sarandí.

Panama, which never participated in a Women's World Cup, was given a chance to fight when Natalia Mills managed to finish off a cross for the first goal, eight minutes before the break.

However, Argentina got an away goal through Florencia Bonsegundo, 67 minutes into the second half to put the game in their favor.

First leg, last week in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A late red card by substitute Yamila Rodriguez could not stop the celebrations of the Albicelestes, and the South Americans won a valuable 4-0 win, inspired by an animated audience of 11,500 people in the home of Arsenal Sarandí, with a dominant performance in the first half with goals from Mariana Larroquette and Eliana Stabile.

It could have been even worse for Panama, but goalkeeper Yenith Bailey underlined her reputation by saving a penalty shot to the experienced forward Estefania Banini in the ten minutes.

The last places for France 2019 will be determined in just over fifteen days in Africa (three places) and Oceania (one place).
