MEXICO CITY – Mexico women’s national team head coach Roberto Medina named a 21-player roster for Saturday’s international friendly at Costa Rica.
The roster features Levante UD forward Veronica Charlyn Corral, who is this season’s leading scorer in the Spanish top flight with nine goals.
Teams in the Liga MX Femenil saw seven of their stars selected, including Club America forward Lucero Cuevas -- the 2017 Apertura’s top scorer with 15 goals.
Both Mexico and Costa Rica are preparing for next year’s 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying competitions.
