PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago -- Trinidad & Tobago head coach Stephen Hart announced Wednesday a 22-man roster for a pair of upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Soca Warriors will open the fourth round of qualifying in CONCACAF for Russia 2018 on the road against Guatemala on November 13, before returning home to face the United States four days later.
Team captain Kenwyne Jones, who has 20 career international goals, highlights the squad, while Korea Republic-based defender Carlyle Mitchell returns for the first time in a year.
“The selection for the Guatemala game is a balanced one and it also allows for flexibility in our approach,” Hart told TTFA Media.
Before traveling to Guatemala City on November 11, T&T will train in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, starting Saturday.
“The camp in Fort Lauderdale will allow us a few days to work without scrutiny and we can simply concentrate on our approach to the game,” commented Hart. “Players will once again work on their roles and function and we can go over the details of potential scenarios.”
Hart also mentioned that additional personnel changes may be made prior to the USA meeting.
