PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago – Trinidad & Tobago head coach Stephen Hart announced Thursday a 24-man roster for the last pair of fourth-round World Cup qualifiers next month.
The first-place Soca Warriors would be guaranteed advancement with a win against either third-place Guatemala (September 2, home) or the second-place United States (September 6, away). Even without a victory, they can still progress based on the results of other matches.
The squad will be captained by forward Kenwyne Jones, who was recently loaned by the USA’s Atlanta United to TT Pro League champion Central FC. He scored on his Sharks’ debut in a 2-2 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) draw against visiting Sporting Kansas City on August 16.
DirecTV W Connection midfielder Hughtun Hector also merited a call-up after notching a goal and an assist in a 4-2 SCCL loss to visiting Pumas on August 3.
