PANAMA CITY, Panama – Panama head coach Hernan Dario Gomez announced Thursday that he has called in 24 players for World Cup Qualifying matches against visiting Trinidad & Tobago and the host United States on March 24 and 28, respectively.
The squad consists of 20 foreign-based players and four from the Liga Panameña de Fútbol, including Chorrillo FC midfielder Ricardo Avila, who scored a team-best four goals at the recently completed CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.
Forward Luis Tejada, Panama’s top scorer in WCQ play with two goals, also merited selection.
The team will convene on March 19 to open a training camp.
