CHICAGO – United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has called Sacha Kljestan into training camp ahead of fourth-round World Cup qualifiers against St. Vincent & the Grenadines (September 2, away) and Trinidad & Tobago (September 6, home).

The New York Red Bulls midfielder replaces defender John Brooks, who will not join the team due to a back ailment.

Kljestan has earned 46 caps and notched four goals since his international debut in 2007. His last appearance came in a 2-0 friendly loss to Ukraine on March 5, 2014, in Larnaca, Cyprus.

This season, in 26 MLS matches, the 30-year-old has netted five goals to go along with a league-leading 15 assists. He also scored in the Red Bulls’ 3-0 win over Antigua GFC in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League on August 3, 2016.
