PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago – Trinidad & Tobago head coach Dennis Lawrence announced Tuesday a 23-player roster for his side’s last two matches in the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Soca Warriors (1W-0D-7L, 3 points), who currently sit last in the Hexagonal table and cannot qualify directly to Russia, will face first-place Mexico (18 points; October 6, away) and the fourth-place United States (9 pts., October 10, home).
Seattle Sounders FC defender/midfielder Joevin Jones – T&T’s top scorer in the current qualifying cycle with five goals – highlights a squad that also includes AZ Alkmaar midfielder Levi Garcia, who opted out of September’s qualifiers in order to fully recover from injury.
“I am fit and ready to go for Trinidad & Tobago,” said Garcia. “I spoke to the coach and was happy to be included, as I always welcome the opportunity to play for my country.”
