GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – Guatemala opened up a training camp on Wednesday in preparation for an international friendly at Mexico on May 30.
Head coach Ivan Sopegno has assembled a 23-player selection, featuring 11 from Comunicaciones, which broke two records last Saturday by prevailing over Municipal in the two-legged Clausura final for its sixth straight Guatemalan title and 30th overall.
The roster is highlighted by the inclusion of midfielder Jose Contreras, who netted 11 goals this past season for the champion Cremas, placing him third on the scoring chart.
