CHICAGO -- United States under-20 national team head coach Tab Ramos named a 20-man roster Friday to compete in three matches at the U-21 International National Teams Football Tournament in Marbella, Spain.
The squad is comprised of players with clubs on three different continents, including midfielder Kellyn Acosta and defender John Requejo. Acosta – a member of the USA’s 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup side -- already has 28 first-team games with FC Dallas under his belt, while 18-year-old Requejo has appeared in two Copa MX games for Mexico’s Club Tijuana.
Fulham midfielder Emerson Hyndman joins a u-20 camp for the first time this year after making his senior debut on September 3, 2014, in a 1-0 win at the Czech Republic.
The U.S. opens the competition with a match against the Russia under-21 national team on Wednesday, November 12, before facing the under-20 teams of Ireland (November 15) and Canada (November 18)
