U-20 semifinals moved to Cuauhtemoc

MIAMI - CONCACAF, in coordination with the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), announced today that Friday's Under-20 Championship semifinal matches in Puebla, Mexico, will now be played at the larger-capacity Estadio Cuauhtemoc.

The move was necessitated to meet the large ticket demand for the United States-Cuba and Mexico-El Salvador semifinal doubleheader on March 1. These games, originally scheduled to take place at the Estadio Universitario BUAP (capacity: 21,750) will kick off as planned at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (local time) at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc.

Attendances at the competition have been impressive. A crowd of nearly 40,000 attended last night's quarterfinal doubleheader that saw Mexico and El Salvador earn tickets to the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be played June 21 - July 13 in Turkey.

The change of venue will not affect the existing emission and distribution of tickets that is currently being made by the Government of Puebla.
