Panama squad named for U-20 tournament in U.S.

PANAMA CITY – Panama under-20 national team head coach Leonardo Pipino announced Monday the selection of 19 players for the 2016 U-20 Men’s NTC Invitational, which is slated to be contested June 29-July 3 in Carson, California.

The squad is highlighted by the inclusion of two players on Panama’s roster for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup: midfielders Justin Simons (1 game, 0 goals) and Adalberto Carrasquilla (0 games, 0 goals). 

Panama is preparing for next month’s Central American qualifying tournament for the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.

At the NTC Invitational, the Canaleros will face Japan (June 29), USA (July 1) and Costa Rica (July 3).
