Guatemala arrives in Panama for UNCAF U-20 tournament

PANAMA CITY, Panama – Guatemala arrived in Panama on Wednesday, two days prior to the start of the Central American qualifying tournament for the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.

Head coach Erick Gonzalez selected a roster of 20 players led by four from Municipal, including midfielder Pedro Altan, who scored two goals in 34 Guatemalan league matches during the 2015/16 campaign.

The Chapines, who have qualified for one FIFA U-20 World Cup (2011), will open play against Honduras on July 8. 

The five-team competition will take place at the Estadio Maracana in the El Chorrillo section of Panama City, Panama, ending on July 16, 2016. The top three finishers will advance to the CONCACAF event.
