BRADENTON, Florida – Honduras completed its conquest of Group C at the 2018 Concacaf Under-20 Championship in style with a comeback 4-3 victory over Antigua and Barbuda.
The Catrachos completed the group with an unblemished record and will advance to the Qualification Stage.
The Benna Boys raced out to an early two-goal lead through Zayn Hakeem (5’) and Akeem Isaac (16’). Luis Palma (21’) cut the deficit to one, but Antigua and Barbuda struck again courtesy of TJ Bramble (42’).
The second half belonged to Honduras and the Central American completed the comeback with goals from Carlos Mejia (68’), Mariano Alvarez (71’) and the winning score from Selvin Guevara (88’).
The Dominican Republic carved out its third straight CU20 victory in a 6-0 win over Belize in the first game of the day.
Juan Angeles (9’, 43’) bagged a brace, while Erick Paniagua (20’), Ronaldo Vasquez (57’), Gerard Lavergne (72’) and Juan Pineda (90+1’) added their names to the scoresheet.
Cuba locked down a second-place finish in strong fashion with a 7-0 victory versus Sint Maarten.
A brace from Geobel Perez (36’, 72’) plus goals from Jean Rodriguez (45+1’), Christian Flores (50’), Jose Perez (76’), Frank Nodarse (79’) and Omar Perez (88’) led the way for the Cubans.
