Panama claims Group D, punches ticket to next round of CU20

BRADENTON, Florida Panama has advanced to the Qualification Stage of the 2018 Concacaf Under-20 Championship by winning Group D after a 4-0 win over Dominica on Matchday Four.

A brace from Diego Valanta (18’, 75’) and goals from Axel McKenzie (60’) and Jesus West (64’) powered the Canaleros to the three points, which sealed their berth to the next round.

Earlier in the day history was made as Saint Kitts and Nevis registered its first ever CU20 win by toppling Canada 2-1.

Romario Martin (23’) and Tyreese Shade (38’) earned the young Sugar Boyz a 2-0 lead, but Canada fired back through Jordan Perruzza (72’) only for Saint Kitts and Nevis to hold on for the win.

It was also a good day for Guadeloupe, who opened the day’s action with a 2-0 triumph over Martinique thanks to scores from Luther Archimede (6’) and Edrick Virginie-Jovial (81’).
