Mexico, Jamaica post big wins in Group B

BRADENTON, Florida Both Mexico and Jamaica posted big wins on Matchday Four of Group B to remain in the mix for a spot in the Qualification Stage of the 2018 Concacaf Under-20 Championship.

Mexico struck early and often in an 8-0 win over Grenada to stay unbeaten in the CU20.

Braces from Jose Macias (31’, 71’) and Edgar Lopez (38’, 52’) and goals from Efrain Orona (3’), Alexis Gutierrez (57’), Diego Hernandez (73’) and Daniel Lopez (89’) led the way for El Tricolor.

Jamaica also emerged as big winners in a 7-1 triumph over Aruba.

A scoreless first half gave way to a goal-filled second half in which a Tevin Rochester hat-trick (52’, 64’, 90+5’), a Ricardo McIntosh brace (84’, 90+1’) and goals from Jamoi Topey (50’) and Nicque Daley (70’) powered the Reggae Boyz, while Aruba’s goal came via Glenbert Croes (66’).

Nicaragua also enjoyed another winning outing, its second straight of the CU20, with a 2-0 victory against Saint Martin. Estariling Acuna (49’) and Eliam Palacios (76’) tallied for the Pinoleros.
