MIAMI, Florida – This saturday, 17 teams will begin their quest to reach this summer’s 2020 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship in Honduras with the start of CU20 Championship Qualifying.
At stake is not only a spot in the Under-20 Championship, but a place in the Round of 16 of the tournament, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the 2021 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
Under-20 Championship Qualifying will see the 17 teams split up between four groups.
Group A: Nicaragua will host Guyana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Montserrat and the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Nicaragua National Football Stadium in Managua.
Group B sees the Dominican Republic welcoming in Grenada, Dominica and Anguilla to the Complejo Deportivo de Bayaguana in Monte Plata.
Emerging Curacao headlines Group C and will face off against Guadeloupe, Belize and Saint Martin at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curacao.
Rounding out the qualifying phase is Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands and Barbados in Group D to be played at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico were very impressive in the 2018 tournament with three wins and will look to take a step forward in 2020 by reaching the knockout stage.
