ST. JOHN’S, Antigua & Barbuda --  the objective of earning a place in the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, the Antigua & Barbuda under-20 national team traveled to the Dominican Republic on Sunday for first round play in Caribbean Football Union qualifying.

In Group 2, the “Benna Youths” will face the host nation (June 25), Guadeloupe (June 27) and Bermuda (June 29).

“We are not going to participate, we are going to compete,” said head coach George Warner, referring to his 20-player squad.  “We had to try and get the team prepared and get their minds focused.”

The opening round, which will run through August 3, consists of 19 teams divided into five groups.  The group winners and the best overall runner-up will advance to the final round – to be played September 10-19, 2014 -- along with host Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica as the other prequalified team.
