MEXICO CITY -- The Mexico under-17 women's national team opened its first camp of the year on Tuesday with 26 players.
Head coach Leonardo Cuellar brought together a majority of the side that overcame Canada on penalty kicks in the final of the 2013 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship, while also calling in some new prospects.
The team is preparing for the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Costa Rica, March 15 – April 4. It will face Colombia, China and Nigeria in Group D.
