BRADENTON, Florida – The 2019 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship continued on Monday with a full slate of action across all three Divisions of the competition.
Division 1
Group A
Reigning CBU15 Champion Mexico was held to a 1-1 draw against visiting Israel, while Curacao and Panama shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Group B
The United States pocketed its second win of the tournament with a 3-0 result over Guatemala thanks to scores from Víctor Valdez (10’), Osvaldo Cisneros (17’) and Rafael Ángel Jauregi (55’). Also victorious was Haiti as a Wilgene Dambreville score in the 47’ was enough in a 1-0 win over Suriname.
Group C
Visiting Slovenia continued to impress with its second straight win, a 3-0 result against Canada, while Guadeloupe played to a thrilling 3-3 draw with El Salvador.
Group D
Group D saw a pair of draws on the day, with Trinidad and Tobago playing to a 1-1 final with Barbados, while Costa Rica and visiting Portugal battled to a 2-2 draw.
Division 2
Group E
Nicaragua enjoyed a comprehensive performance in a 3-0 win versus Guyana in which Darwin José Corrales (4’), Roger Gómez (30’) and Osmin Salinas (47’) scored for the Pinoleros, while the Cayman Islands also collected three points in a 1-0 final over Bahamas thanks to a goal from Shameer Hendricks-seymour (3’).
Group F
Puerto Rico was a big winner, pocketing a 2-0 triumph over the Dominican Republic with goals from Jensen Liquet Cruz (10’) and Raysond Rosario Diaz (62’). Also finding the win column was Martinique with a 4-2 triumph over Grenada.
Group G
A brace from Keegan Caull powered Saint Lucia past Saint Kitts and Nevis 3-1, while French Guiana rode a Nicolas Baybaud brace to a 3-0 win over Belize.
Group H
Bermuda enjoyed a strong start to the tournament in a 3-0 win against Antigua and Barbuda, while Brian Velox was the hero of the day for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with a hat trick in a 4-0 win versus Aruba.
Division 3
Group I
The U.S. Virgin Islands had the most prolific output of the day at the CBU15 with a 5-1 victory over Anguilla thanks in large part to Amir Ottey’s brace, while Sint Maarten and Bonaire played to a 0-0 draw.
Group J
Turks and Caicos Islands was impressive as well in posting a 3-1 win against Saint Martin, with Dale Taylor (10’), Watson Jean-louis (19’) and Cory Williams (70+4’) all finding the back of the net. In the group’s other action, British Virgin Islands earned a 2-0 victory against Montserrat in which Luka Chalwell (17’) and Oliver Brown (33’) scored.
