MIAMI – Just the second week of the new season in the Liga MX Femenil and records are being broken while history is being written. The teams of the Liga MX Femenil are already proving how much they want to reach the playoffs later in the year.
A week after beating Mazatlan 7-0, Juarez kept things rolling by downing Queretaro 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The only goal of the match came from Myra Delgadillo, who took a shot from outside the box, one that Queretaro goalkeeper Marta Alemany couldn't stop, giving Juarez three more points to keep their momentum going.
On Monday evening, Atletico San Luis won their first match of the season by defeating visitors Club Leon, 3-1. Within the first minute of the game, the first goal was scored by Atletico San Luis’s Julissa Davila, who was in the right place after Leon goalkeeper Angeles Martinez wasn’t able to control the ball. Just four minutes later, Madeleine Pasco scored the goal that evened things up for Club Leon from a long kick outside the box. In the 41’ an own goal from Ruth Bravo gave the hosts the advantage again, and in the 77’ the historic goalscorer for Las Potosinas, Bea Parra of Spain, scored the third and final goal of the match.
One of the biggest matches of the week happened on Monday evening, when Pachuca won 10-2 over Toluca. Las Tuzas had the services of Charlyn Corral (4 goals) and Jennifer Hermoso (2 goal), plus scores from Monica Ocampo, Lizbeth Angeles, Vanessa Millsaps and Alice Soto to seal one of the biggest scoring performances in Liga MX Femenil history.
